Forest Heart
Forest Heart is a marquetry wall artwork that depicts a bird. The image is built from 47 wood pieces, each cut at a defined angle to reveal natural grain patterns. The woods include haloxylon, barberry, fig, tree of heaven, keykom maple, jujube, European ash and wenge. All colors, lines and textures come from the wood itself, without added color. The sheets are 4 mm thick, the panel measures 35 by 60 cm and the weight is 700 grams. The work follows a method named Naqshbandi, which traces and joins natural patterns to form one complete image.
Forest Heart Wood Picture by Mohamad ali Vadood has been featured as an outstanding representation of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Forest Heart Wood Picture was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2020. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award that recognizes outstanding design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
