Into the Water
This series surprises the viewer with a mysterious aquatic environment where expressive figures of great proportions emerge, victims of fate. The artist explores the possibilities of transparency and blur, establishing different levels of perception by bringing depth to the pieces. All of this, thanks to a planned minimalist combination of materials, mainly paper and polypropylene. Thus emerges a suggestive conceptual work with a symbolic and surreal personality.
Into the Water Series of artworks by Sonia Alins was selected as a creative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Into the Water Series of artworks received the Bronze A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2017. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award which recognizes excellent design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
