Hsinchu Scroll
Hsinchu Scroll is an interactive installation created for an exhibition in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. The design adapts the traditional Chinese handscroll into a spatial journey through two galleries, each measuring about 30 by 15 meters with a ceiling height of 5 meters. Infrared depth sensors track visitor movement and trigger real-time calligraphy and flowing water effects. Lightweight modular screen structures and high-gain projection fabric support large-scale digital projections. In a final zone, visitors leave digital calligraphic marks and join the evolving exhibition.
Hsinchu Scroll Interaction Installation by Cultural Affairs Bureau of Hsinchu City has been identified as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Hsinchu Scroll Interaction Installation earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Installation Design in 2026. The A' Interactive, Experiential and Immersive Design Installations Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design accolade that recognizes superior design of sculptural installations, light installations, sound installations, digital installations, kinetic installations, Site-Specific installations, interactive installations, performance installations and more.
