Yunlai
Yunlai cup is a handmade product from a hot glass workshop in Guangzhou, China. Yunlai in Chinese means clouds slowly rising. The design comes from the research of combining extra-thick glass-frit and high temperature sandblasting technology with the cloud space from traditional landscape painting. The designer also considered ergonomics in streamlined design, organically combining natural contact and holding angle of palm.
Yunlai Tea Cup by Liu Siyu has been featured as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Yunlai Tea Cup was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2021. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which recognizes superior design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
